Remote Sensing - About Remote Sensing
A key instrument in modern humanitarian demining
is Remote Sensing. The following section highlights
some of the basic principles of aerial imagery, and how remote sensing
can benefit demining operations. Remote sensors yielding amazingly
vivid images, unheard of just a decade ago, are now readily accessible.
For the deminer, these new capabilities empower both field personnel
and organizational managers to better understand the environment
in which they are working.
