We would like to draw your attention to an updated version of ORDATA covering the most commonly used mines in greater detail.
A new version of the mine section has been commissioned by the NVESD Humanitarian Demining Program to re-organize, correct and supplement the mine information in the original ORDATA database. The new version is a `living' system that can be updated continuously and has far more powerful search functions. This database can also be downloaded onto a PDA, retaining full functionality, and can be updated, as and when required.

SHAPE WIZARD

If you are not familiar with an ordnance item, you may be able to find it in the ORDATA Online database by beginning your search with a shape. A variety of silhouette shapes are displayed in the Shape Wizard. First decide on the ordnance item's general shape, then select a silhouette that it most closely resembles.

It is possible to search the ORDATA Online database using the silhouette shape alone, but a more focused search can be conducted if you click the View Detail Shapes link under a silhouette shape. This way, you can select a drawing that more closely resembles the ordnance item. You must select a silhouette shape before you can view the Detailed Shapes page.

Procedure

  1. Click the silhouette shape that best represents the shape of the ordnance item.
or
  1. Click the View Detailed Shapes click under the silhouette shape to open the Detailed Shapes dialog to look for a more detailed representation of the ordnance item.
  2. Click the detail shape based on the shapes given for the silhouette. You may also select none of the detail images by clicking the Select None link and this will return you to the Shape Wizard silhouette page.
