Experience/Advice
The operation of detection equipment to be tested, whether it be COTS or equipment under development, always has to be checked at the start of the testing period in order to verify that the equipment functions as it ought to or was supposed to. This can be done using a calibration target or by passing the equipment over a calibration area.
