The Mine Action Information Center will pick up all participants from Dulles Airport on October 14, 2007 and provide a shuttle bus to transport participants to the hotel they will be staying at in Harrisonburg. You should inform the MAIC after you have made your travel plans so that we can arrange your pick-up from the airport. Please be aware that the MAIC will only provide transportation to Harrisonburg from Dulles International Airport (IAD) on October 14.
By traveling to the United States you have crossed several time zones. It takes approximately one day for the body to adjust for every hour gained or lost by traveling across time zones. If five time zones are crossed in a journey then the traveler should expect an adjustment period of about five days. In order to make the adjustment easier it is best to maintain a regular sleeping schedule. The workday begins early in the United States (8:00 or 9:00), and it is not customary to take extended breaks for sleep during the day. It is recommended that participants adhere to a schedule of going to sleep around 9:00 or 10:00 pm (21:00 or 22:00) in order to successfully adjust to the time difference and actively participate in the course.
