Research
Study on the Effects of Aging on Landmines (Cambodia and Jordan): (2009-2010) Major scientific study documenting the effects of time, weather, soil and other environmental conditions on landmines.
Irregular Warfare Research Project: (2009) CISR compiled a searchable database of IW-related courses across a spectrum of over 200 schools and institutions. The CISR joined the database task in medias res, and worked with SA Inc. to overhaul the database, making it more comprehensive in the scope of information collected in it.
Landmine Casualty Data: Best Practices Guidebook (August 2008) A reference tool to assist people trying either to create a mine/ERW victim information system or enhance an existing system. Includes detailed case studies, recommended best practices, lessons learned, and contacts and resources for victim assistance information management and program planning.
Training
Peer Support Training: Pathways to Resilience (P2R): an innovative regional leadership and training program for survivors of landmines and explosive ordnance injuries in the Middle East.
Senior Managers' Training: An adaptable five-week, cross-cultural, and skills-based program for mine-action professionals. JMU conducted five courses sponsored by UNDP from 2004-2007, and two courses since 2010 sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. JMU has provided assistance with three similar trainings held in Jordan in 2009, 2010 and 2011 held by NCDR and sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. The next course at JMU is scheduled for May-June 2012.
Information Exchange
The Journal of ERW and Mine Action is written by mine action practitioners from around the world. Authors explore current practices, new equipment and techniques, procedures, lessons learned, and newsworthy information important to the international mine action community. Founded in 1997, The Journal of ERW and Mine Action is the longest continuous source of ERW and mine-action information in the world.
